Layers: The main background image is a rock wall with mineral deposits, found while hiking up a dormant volcano on the island of Faial in the Azores. Layered over that is flaking paint from a door in the town of Horta on Faial. The silhouetted trees are from a day trip around Mount Pico on Pico Island (Azores). The “sunrise” glow is an image of frozen branches at night after the ice storm in Toronto a couple of years ago.
